Digging into the AJ1's long-running history with the world of nike roshe black skateboarding, the shoes feature a wear-away upper, with grey/black accents that give way to bold crimson/pink embellishments for a two-pronged nod to NYC (the former) and Paris (the latter). Apart from this Lance Mountain -esque detail, these Air Jordan SBs also boast plenty of classic style, thanks to their high-top cut, ball-and-wings logo on the collar flap, and traditional midsole. You can expect the early release to go down on May 10th before the full rollout on May 25th, with a retail price of $175 USD. Stay tuned for further information on this compelling collaboration, and be sure to check our Jordan Release Dates page as well to see what else the Jumpman's got on the way this summer.

The intersection between the Air Jordan 1 and the world of skate dates back to 1985 when Nike air force one nike released Michael Jordan's first ever shoe. Originally intended for the NBA hardwood, the leather constructed sneaker was a favorite among skaters for its protective and durable qualities. In fact, most of Nike's basketball shoes of that era were ended up on the feet of skaters, but the Air nike dart Jordan 1 has managed to be the poster-child of that dual-sport distinction thanks its apperance on ramps and backyard pools, all captured on magazine covers and homemade videos.

Back in 2014, this crossover between Jordan Brand and Nike Skateboarding came to fruition thanks to some poignant designs by skate legend Lance Mountain and artist Craig Stecyk. Lance's version alternately paired up the original "Banned" and "Royal" colorways and covered the exterior entirely with white or black paint that naturally wore away over time. A similar concept appears in the 2019 versions which sees a Lakers-friendly purple and yellow nike air max 1 ultra flyknit that transforms to a black and red, and a second light bone version that reveals a pink hue underneath. Both versions feature Nike SB tongue labels and Zoom Air insoles consistent with modern day SB footwear.

In an interesting twist of events, a batch of the "Banneds" mysteriously showed up at a Portland Nike Outlet yesterday with a price tag of $109.99, creating quite a stir in the sneaker world and as you can imagine, quickly selling out before the end of the day. It was reported that of the small run that hit the store, some pairs were B-grades, while others featured no indication, but regardless of which you got, it was still one of the most unexpected treasures ever to hit the outlets, so it's a win either way for whoever was lucky enough to cop. A few pairs from yesterday's random outlet drop have hit the resale market, so if you're willing to pay the price, you can snatch up a pair of these rare gems now from *vnds* on eBay .

There will be some borrowing though, most notably in the form of this Air Jordan 1 "Carmine" nike jordan 1 that's slated to arrive this weekend. Continue reading for another official shot on the shoes and watch for them to show up Niketore this Saturday or on eBay right now .Conceived as "the ultimate Father's Day gift" by Mike's own children, this Air Jordan 1 style will show up right before that holiday. The shoes mix navy leather with a matching colored denim, and also feature a good lot of familial details that are unfortunately left out of these official images. The shoes will arrive this coming Saturday, which will be jam-packed with Jordans and other high profile releases.
